Disney has been doing a lot of live action remakes. Their next one to come out is Beauty and the Beast on March 17th. And it doesn’t look like they’ll be stopping anytime soon.
They’ve just announced casting for the upcoming Lion King remake! James Earl Jones will reprise the role of Mufasa, which he voiced back in 1994, and the amazing Donald Glover will voice adult Simba.
Jon Favreau will be directing. Of course, he did a great job with Jungle Book recently.
It doesn’t look like they’ve announced the role of young Simba, so keep your fingers crossed for Jonathan Taylor Thomas (on the condition that he never went through puberty).
