Trading Spaces Coming Back to Televison
TLC is bringing back “Trading Spaces” 10 years after it went off the air. Trading Spaces pretty much started the “Home Reno Revolution” on TV, back in the early 2000’s. On the show, two sets of neighbors swapped houses and were given 48 hours to completely transform a room with a $1,000 budget.
No word on if any of the original cast will be back, but here’s hoping they get Paige Davis to host again….but I think we can all agree that we don’t want them to bring back Hildi Santo-Tomas. Her designs were always THE WORST!
I loved Trading Spaces! I think one of my favourite things was that it was affordable. Unlike today’s shows like Property Brothers where you need a minimum $70,000 to be on the show, with Trading Spaces it was affordable, and everyone could play along and get ideas.
Trading Spaces isn’t the only show making a comeback. Just over a year after their final season wrapped. TMZ reports that American Idol will be coming back to TV. Apparently both NBC and FOX are locked in a bidding war to bring back the show. NBC allegedly wants to own the show in part to curb competition between it and the network’s current singing competition hit, The Voice. Meanwhile, The Voice‘s Adam Levine has apparently expressed interest in doing that show less often, so if NBC lands Idol, it would rotate the two series so that each only airs once per year. (The Voice currently airs two seasons, or “cycles,” per year.) FOX and NBC have both submitted bids to Fremantle Media, which owns Idol, and a decision could come as early as this week.
