A BIG Dance Day is coming this Thursday.
The Axworthy Health and RecPlex on the UofW campus will be filled with dancers, Thursday. It’s a free, open-to-the-public event which will attract over 750 Winnipeggers showing professionally choreographed dance routines
It’s SHARING DANCE DAY with performances by Rainbow Stage , Folklorama , the RWB , the Winnipeg Blue Bomber Cheer Team and others in a fundraising effort to support kids from schools which are under-served in dance programming. Fort Rouge , Faraday , Pinkham , Robertson and Kent Road school children will be represented.
One teacher says the dance makes her students happy and calm, allowing them to move their bodies and express their feelings through the wonders of dance. Shy students especially, open up and become more socially involved. Thursday’s event is called a peer to peer fundraising platform which allows the public to support the aforementioned schools. Events begin at 10:15 followed by performances at 11am. To learn more or donate log on at www.rwb.org
