Who was your Favorite Public School Teacher ?
I had the very best teachers in Public School. One in particular stands out to this day. His name was Mr. Schmor, arriving as a 22 year old principal when I was in Grade six. He was brought in by the community to teach us band instruments and eventually be part of a community band. His direction and dedication had a profound effect for all. Learning to play the Trumpet and be called “ Hot-Lips” Kozak was all his doing. Because of him , I developed a love for music and gained a greater respect for life’s challenges. He made a difference.
The Manitoba Teacher’s Society wants stories like mine in promoting World Teachers Day this Thursday…..great teachers we had , who left a lasting and positive impression on our lives. We may not remember their full names but do remember the difference they made for us..Add your story about your amazing public school teacher by sharing a video or story about what those teachers meant to you! To do so log on to MBTeach.org. , and follow the link. Here’s an example of just one video story…why not add yours?
