NO Ducks but lots of Skaters !
This could be you ,skating outdoors and Winnipeg has special places for doing just that. One such spot is Assiniboine Park’s DUCK pond , famous in the summer for its’ water fowl and flowers , has become a Skating Plaza. Parks crews have completed clearing snow , flooding , and scrapping to turn the iconic spot into a Winter Delight. Early skaters will be pleased to know the Shelter opens at 5am until 10pm every day. Convenient wash-rooms , picnic tables and a fireplace are nearby. No concern for night time either , because the area is lit up to skate safely under the stars. Make a day of it, by using the Toboggan Hill nearby, already open to the public. Well maintained walking and cross country trails have been cleared as well. As park staff say…” come and enjoy something Magical this winter”! It’s FREE and every Winnipeger loves FREE! See you at the PARK!
