Artificial Intelligence is coming to Hasbro’s Robotic Cat !
News today that the U-S National Science Foundation is giving Hasbro , the toymaker and Brown University scientists a million dollars to explore ways to add artificial intelligence to the “ Joy for All” robotic cat , currently sold as a companion for seniors. Scientists will look at ways to make the robotic cat helpful for the elderly doing simple tasks; such as finding lost objects, reminding the owner to call family members or go to a doctor’s appointment.
HASBRO says the cats look, feel and sound like real cats. But they’re so much more than soft fur, soothing purrs and pleasant meows. These cats respond to petting, hugging and motion much like the real ones you know and love but don’t require any special care or feeding. They call this a personally rich experience which can bring joy and comfort to aging loved ones without any vet bills to worry about.
Cost runs a little over a hundred dollars and the best part , no litter box to clean out. Have a look.
