The Sundogs have Sundogs!!!
Say what you want about frigid Winnipeg winters …if you dress warmly, there really is a lot of beauty to behold in the cold. Today, while I was in the gym, I pointed out the window and said to Trainer Jeff, “Look at that…the sun is frozen!” I didn’t take a picture but I wish I had. The sun was just coming up and, framed by the trees at the edge of the lot, it looked like a hazy frosted orange orb.
After my work out…I was on my way to see Kevin at Gauthier Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram about my car’s sad state of affairs. Cozy in my loaner Jeep Cherokee (omg I wish I could afford to keep that gem! #heatedsteeringwheelsarelife!) I was on my way out of the lot when I saw the following spectacle before me…
It was SO darned beautiful, I turned around in the lot to go out the opposite exit with an unobstructed view to get a better picture…I’m very glad I did that.
As I approached Lag, on Bishop Grandin, I noticed that there were now two halos around the sun! The sundogs had SUNDOGS! I wanted to pull over and get out again but I didn’t want to keep Kevin waiting any longer so, instead, I snapped a quick shot at a red light (I know I KNOW…not supposed to but it was quick and…WOW! A little blurry but…it’s through the windshield and I was trying to be quick! If you have a better shot of the doubles…feel free to share!) Hope you enjoy the captures as much as I felt blessed to observe them as they occurred.
