Not going to Regina with the Bombers ,then have i got a SPOT for you!
I've been watching crews build a floating stage in the FORKS Harbour. It's the focal point for the RED RIVER Gathering , “Barge Festival”. This Friday through Sunday you'll be able to enjoy a ton of music and multicultural entertainment on the BIGGEST Floating Stage in Manitoba. This is an extra special event ,because it commemorates the 200th anniversary of the arrival of the Selkirk Settlers. Get ready for a music festival that’s filled with a mix of Celtic, First Nations and Metis Music......all meant to salute the character, courage and culture of those Red River Settlers who came all the way from Scotland, way back in 1812. A time without roads, trains or airplanes....Imagine! The FREE , three day musical extravaganza, kicks off this Friday . Over three days you'll see and hear , The full Winnipeg Symphony ,John McDermott, Celtica, Errol Ranville, The Barra MacNeils, Ca Clique, The Aboriginal School of Dance, a York Boat Procession, Scottish heavy games and parade of Selkirk Settlers. Sunday night ,FIREWORKS will wrap up the weekend .Mother nature has promised some fabulous weather too so , get there early and stay late. You're gonna love it! I've posted some pics from last year to entice you.....lov koz
