How To Save A Wet Book

So you borrow a friends copy of the The Lovely Bones - decide to have a soak in the tub while you read and uh-oh. Book is now in the tub with you.
What do you do? Don't get out the hairdryer. Get out a plastic bag - put book in plastic bag and put in freezer standing upright.
Cold will draw out the water and book should be back to normal within a week or two.
Finally call your friend and let them know you'll be needing the book a little longer than expected.

How to set the side views to avoid blind spots

Warming up - don't need the extension cord on the side view mirror anymore - may also need to re-adjust it.
Car and Driver says we should re-look at how we've been doing this. Society of Automotive Engineers suggests we adjust them outwards more to cover the blind spots properly - also means we can't see our car in the side view either.

Back from LA - Celebrity sighting!

Gotta say I've been fortunate when on holidays. Always seem to run into a celebrity or two. In Vegas alone I've seen Bill Clinton, daughter Chelsea and Donny Osmond and in Hawaii recently met Marcia Brady.
Heading to Los Angeles - you'd think the celebrity count would be through the roof. Not really. Only met one. He's Canadian and was standing behind me going through customs in Winnipeg on the way to the US.
I only said two words to him..."Are you.." he nodded and said yes - I also confirmed by his passport that it was indeed Kevin McDonald from Kids in the Hall. Kinda neat he flew coach and was in our row. You'd think with all the money he made from Canadian tv he'd have a fancy laptop or music player - nope he was listening to CD's on a 1985 Sony Discman.
