A graduate of Canada's York University, with degrees in English and Education, Zaffi Gousopoulos has seen her poetry published in various literary magazines and has been a featured performer at arts festivals and benefits throughout America and Canada. She is best known for her video work (Bubble Gum Alley) which has been shown on Canadian music television, and screened in Chicago, San Francisco and Toronto. In 1995, Zaffi founded Mousiké Productions to acknowledge the intersection of the all art through a multicultural expression. In 1998, Zaffi published The Bride of Inglish, a book of personal poems and stream of consciousness musings, which was subsequently turned into a companion audio CD. The Queen's Incurable Inglish fused poetry with music, narrative, and a fresh take on a woman's life within the commingled traditions of a Greek heritage and Canadian upbringing. In addition to writing and public reading engagements, Zaffi Gousopoulos has taught language, math, drama and visual arts and has also been an active contributor and volunteer for antidiscrimination organizations such as The Canadian Congress for Learning Opportunities for Women and The Anti-Racism Action Centre. She has been widely recognized as part of a new generation of culturally aware and socially active poet-performers. ~ Roxanne Blanford, All Music Guide
