About the show
After a number of months of working with an interim Waking Crew line-up, QX104 is pleased to introduce the new cast of characters. Well, actually two of them have been with the show for many years, one has been with us for the past several months and one is brand new to the show.
New to the show, we welcome Mookie Wilson. Mookie's been working in Country radio across Canada for many years. He and his family now call Winnipeg and QX104 their new home. A big fan of football, the first place he went when he got off the plane was the Bomber Store!
Troy Westwood, who has been filling in on the show for the past little while, is staying on with QX104 permanently! This is awesome - as who else would be able to give us rib recipes and parenting advice. Troy's well known for his community involvement and Winnipeg loves him for it.
Boyd Kozak continues on the show as our News and Traffic guy, but is also there to help out with anything else on the show. Of course, there will be limits!
Lastly, Caroline Hunter, who has been a part of the Waking Crew since it launched many years ago, continues as the show's cornerstone.
Caroline "hopes you will continue to embrace the Waking Crew, and start your day with this revised cast of characters. You can never truly replace what was, but instead be glad that you had it for a time, and be open to the next great adventure. I look forward to sharing it with you!"

I am so reluctant to believe that we have actually said goodbye to winter. It seems very unlikely that I will not be looking out the window staring at sleet and flurries in the next month or so. Either way, we are definitely ahead of the game. Dreams of the cottage don't seem quite so distant. It's awfully nice to be able to head out of the house without some nasty chill hitting you, and without layers of clothes. The next phase I can't wait to be done with is the dirt everywhere. I can't keep the car clean, the bottom of my jeans are filthy just from walking in from the driveway, and the muck is everywhere. I suppose that is kind of a rite of passage for spring. Even with the dirt, this is hands down my favourite time of year. All of the good stuff is right around the corner. I love barbecues and patios and all of the great things that go with it! I try to keep all of that in mind as I force myself to hit the gym and workout. I am 3 weeks into it, and my interest is beginning to drop. That doesn't make a lot of sense, because I certainly feel better. It's a battle I have been in my entire life. Sometimes I win, sometimes I lose. The one thing I am certain of is it would be nice to feel better about myself by the time I'm sitting out in the sunshine. That can only happen one baby step at a time. Have a super weekend! C'mon sunshine!!
