CONFIDENCE! What a powerful word. The dictionary describes it this way… “a feeling of trust and firm belief in yourself or others.” A survey by Canada’s Public Health Agency showed 35% of girls in Grade 6 say they feel confident but drops to 14% by Grade 10. For boys, it’s 47% in Grade 6, then dropping to 24% by Grade 10.
