This a picture of a very special girl. She’s 8 year old Lily and this Wednesday , will be getting a 3 minute Shopping Spree at Toys”R”Us on Regent . Lily’s been randomly chosen by the Starlight Children’s Foundation to race through the store filling shopping carts with as many toys as possible!
Up to this point it hasn’t been much fun. A year ago, Lily was diagnosed with very high risk Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. The diagnosis of course, a complete shock for her and the family. Until then, she had been a completely healthy child. After many hours spent in treatment at Cancer Care or CK-95 at Children’s Hospital the staff says Lily keeps smiling!.
After countless hospital stays to times of complete isolation , she’s missed out on many opportunities to enjoy just being a kid. We can be sure her smile will be ear-to-ear Wednesday morning as she races down the aisles at Toys-“R”-Us , filling her carts. It’s bound to be a Feel-Good story!
