The HUG MUG comes to the Forks River Trail!
This huge replica of a Tim’s Coffee Mug is the work of Grade 11 students from M.B.C.I which has been dubbed The Hug Mug ; soon a part of the Forks River Trail ready for skaters and strollers to come in and warm-up
The design was based on a typical TIM Hortons’ Coffee cup. It was decided the cup should lay on its’ side with the addition of so called hot chocolate and marshmallows as an added effect. Skate – Safe rubber would represent the “hot chocolate” while marshmallows would be seats for trail-users to rest on.
Outside work was done several weeks ago with benches and paint days later. The Hug Mug has since been on display at The Forks and awaits decision by officials as to where on the trail it’ll go. We’ll learn that on Friday when all the trails huts are unveiled. Many of the students involved had never built anything before so alumni were brought in to help. Teacher Mel Braun wants to mention that students will be on the ice every Sunday in February looking for donations in support of relief efforts for Haiti affected by Hurricane Irma. This effort alone should prove reason enough to be generous! KUDOS to The Kids!
