What a great summer! Hot weather and NO Mosquitoes , perfect for a Road-Trip Holiday. NOW what about the car? Here are some Dos and Dont’s for the vehicle which we should consider.
1.DO- leave the windows open about an inch to keep the interior from getting HOT.
2.DO- Use a windshield shade when parked. Your thighs will appreciate it.
3.DO- TIRE Pressure increases when running on HOT highways so be aware of this
4.DO- Have an Emergency kit stashed in the trunk ; Gallon of water, phone charger, non-perishable snacks , bug spray , first aid kit , flares , jumper cables and a basic tool kit.
5.DO- Have your vehicle get the once over by your mechanic to see all components are in working order.
6.DO – IF you don’t have a CAA Membership , get one. If you have a breakdown the TOLL Free number 1-800-222-4357 is invaluable. Online at www.caamanitoba.com. You’ll not regret doing this.

DO NOT drive with Winter Tires. Temperatures above 7 degrees will mean those tires will lose traction. Thirty degrees or more Winter tires may warp!
DO NOT Neglect the Battery , it takes a beating due to constant use of the A/C.
DO NOT leave the family pet inside when parked because the temps inside will exceed 40 degrees even with windows Open! Don’t do it for ANY Reason!
Now let’s GO!
