Walter Carr is a college student in Birmingham, Alabama, who lost his home in hurricane Katrina. The day before he was to start a new job with the “Bellhops” moving company, his car broke down. Did Walter “call in stranded”? No. Instead, he started walking the 20 miles to work at midnight to arrive on time for a 4am start.
