Former Cosby Show actor responds brilliantly to being “job-shamed” for working at a supermarket (Watch!…)
Geoffery Owens, until now, was most well-known for playing Sondra Huxtable’s husband, Elvin, on The Cosby Show. He’s still acting but has taken on different jobs over the years to make ends meet between acting gigs. Recently, a woman photographed him clerking at a Trader Joes store and the pics went viral with many outlets jumping on to, seemingly, shame Owens for the kind of work he was doing on the side.
The actor, who is quite proud of his ‘side-hustle’ appeared on Good Morning America to address the situation and make sure everyone knows exactly how he feels, “There is no job that is better than another job.” said Owens, “It might pay better. It might have better benefits. It might look better on a résumé and a paper…But actually, it’s not better. Every job is worthwhile and valuable . . . No one has to feel sorry for me. I’m doing fine.” Watch his whole clip here:
Although Owens says he wouldn’t want to get a job because of the notoriety he’s gained through all of this so-called “job-shaming” attention, he may reconsider with this offer from Tyler Perry!…
#GeoffreyOwens I’m about to start shootings OWN’s number one drama next week! Come join us!!! I have so much respect for people who hustle between gigs. The measure of a true artist.
