First off, I’m biased about the C.P.R. It’s the railroad which gave my twenty year old dad a job working on the tracks when he arrived from Ukraine back in 1928. As a CP employee, he had a pass to ride as a passenger for free. When we became a family, riding the wonderful day coach from the Alberta border to Winnipeg was a great adventure for me and my brother. Dad would always praise the company for giving him employment, a pay-cheque to feed his family and the fact he could travel anywhere CP went.
