Winnipeg’s Scottish Community celebrates today! It’s Robbie Burns’ Birthday. A celebration of the famous Bards’ life. So famous that in 2009 , Burns was chosen the Greatest Scot by the Scottish public, beating William “Braveheart” Wallace in a special TV poll.
The St. Andrws Society will gather at the Holiday Inn South , to hear the pipes , taste the Haggis and raise a glass in the poet’s honour. Hi-light of the banquet will be addressing The HAGGIS. Wikpedia , describes Haggis as a savoury pudding containing sheep’s pluck (heart, liver and lungs); minced with onion, oatmeal, suet, spices, and salt, mixed with stock, traditionally encased in the animal’s stomach though now often in an artificial casing instead.
