BC school axes Mother’s and Father’s Day from the classroom
An elementary school in Mission, British Columbia, has decided that in 2017 the classroom is no place for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day crafts or activities.
“Due to this, the children will not be making gifts at school to give on Mother’s Day and Father’s Day,” states a letter sent home to parents. “We feel each family knows the best way to celebrate with their own family.”
Some parents are not happy with the teacher’s decision, and took to Facebook to share the note and have asked parents to call both the school and school board.
What do you think? Should school’s here do away with Mother’s Day and Father’s Day activities too? Or is this just being too “politically correct”? Join the conversation on today’s #QX104AtWorkSocial! Call me at 204-780-1041.
